Francotte is right for AF. Does it have the Martini Henry Action or the drop out innards like a Cadet?Look around for some cabinet makers steel wool in 4 ought "0000" size. Don't use any larger....

Make sure to remove the stocks first, though! Even better than steel wool is bronze wool, again in a very fine grade. If neither is readily available, get some hardwood dowels, about 1/2" diameter, 5"...

In the mid west, at least, the vendors for Rigg products sell this. It's a soft stainless alloy that won't cut bluing but will knock down rust and patina.
